2011 Happenings
I am constantly rewarded and impressed by the fabulous work that gets produced in the studio and 2011 has been no exception in our new spacious Morley Studio. 

From watercolour giraffes to fantastical masks, from paper plate sculptures to combined acrylics, from drawing portraits to stone-like sculptures (above), our teachers have challenged the students to take chances and dare to let their talent loose.

Weekend away
Once again we spent a lovely weekend up in the hills of Lesmurdie with lots of drawing, learning, eating, fun and relaxing. Contact Karen to find out how to join us next year.

2012 News
I am delighted to say that all of our teachers are continuing with us in the New Year, although some in a reduced capacity. I have had the exciting duty of interviewing some highly experienced teachers and artists to fill in the gaps and introduce some new classes. We welcome Liz Merriweather - acrylics and drawing and Pam Woodcock - watercolours, to our team.
On a personal note, I am excited to be part of a network of people providing holiday programs to the children of the Mowanjum community near Derby. I will be going up for a week in January to help out with all sorts of activities and facilitate 3 art workshops. If you have any clothes or bikes to donate please contact me asap so they can be taken up in early January.
We would like to particularly thank for their very generous sponsorship in helping us get up to Derby on a regular basis.

2012 opportunities
I'm pleased to say that our Sunday Workshop program will continue in 2012 with some exciting opportunities being discussed. The first three sessions are locked in for the last Sunday of February, March and April.

New Classes
Kids Drawing
For our young students wanting to focus on drawing, we have scheduled a class on Tuesdays from 5.15 - 6.30. We will be using different drawing media and will also include colour. This has proved extremely popular and it is already fully booked for 1st term 2012. If you are interested please let us know so that we can schedule a 2nd class if it is required.

Feedback
Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome.  If you would like to see a class or workshop in a particular medium, please let us know.

Art classes make a wonderful gift.  Vouchers to any amount are available and can be used for any class, workshop or product from Karen Frankel Art Studio.  We have a small number of creative products available for sale at excellent prices.
