watercolour

Well known watercolour artist Lucy Papalia conducts structured watercolour classes for beginners as well as those who have dabbled a little and wish to further their watercolour experience.

No drawing experience is necessary as the focus is on learning and practising watercolour techniques. Lucy loves sharing her knowledge and experience and teaches through demonstration of sound watercolour principles.

A basic kit is available for purchase at excellent prices as are regular supplies of material as needed.

More about Lucy

Lucy was born in Perth. She graduated from Perth Technical College in 1975 having completed a Diploma of Graphic Design. Her specialist interests were drawing, etching and photography. Lucy worked in the advertising industry before travelling overseas and starting a family.

After returning to the advertising industry as a senior artist she decided to experiement with a variety of mediums to broaden her artistic outlook including acrylic, watercolours, pastels and pen and ink before deciding to specialize in watercolour.

Lucy is an active member of a number of community based art clubs and was invited to join the Watercolour Society of WA and has successfully exhibited works in both general and restricted art exhibitions and has won awards for her works. She has taught watercolour painting and drawing since 1992. In 1999 she was commissioned to provide artwork for a new Telstra administration building and has been commissioned by private collectors.

Her first solo exhibition was in 2001 and Lucy has been invited to judge art competitions for the Joondalup and Wanneroo Councils in public exhibitions. She has conducted and organized art and art history tours to Salzburg, Tuscany and France.
